Junior High Summer Camp July 23 - July 27, 2018
Learn engineering and programming without even knowing you’re doing it! By the time the week is done, you will have learned 10 important engineering concepts without having to do any math! Have a ton of fun, gain confidence in those STEM skills that everyone is talking about, and maybe even discover some things that you never thought you could do!
Withdrawal / Transfer Policy
A $25 withdrawal / transfer fee applies to all registrations. No refunds or transfers will be given on or after 14 days before the camp start date.
The camp is for children who have completed grades 7, 8, or 9.
What to bring each day
Please pack a backpack with the following items:
– A water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray and hat
– Appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather and participation in physical activities
– A nutritious lunch including 2 healthy snacks
– Emergency supplies (inhalers, medication for allergies etc.). On the first day, please let your Leader know where the emergency supplies are in their backpack
Participants do NOT need computers. Please do not bring any electronics to the camp. Cell phones are permitted for emergency contact but students will not be allowed to use them during the day.
Drop-off: Campers will meet at the main entrance of the Dalhousie Community Centre every day. Drop-off time is 8:30 – 8:45am. Camp Leaders will be outside waiting for their campers. If it is raining, please proceed through the front doors of the community hall. If you have purchased early drop-off, children may arrive as early as 7:30am. A camp Leader will be at the drop-off area to meet you. If you arrive after the drop-off time, please proceed to the camp classroom.
The main camp room is the “Out of School Care Room” located in the basement of the community centre. Enter the building and find the staircase on your right. If you’re lost, please ask at reception.
Lunch: Each student must bring their own nutritious lunch along with two healthy snacks and a bottle of water for use throughout the day. Coolers with ice packs will be available for cold storage. There is no access to any food or vending machines at the community centre. If your child has food allergies, please clearly label their food containers to ensure they are not mixed with others. We will do our best to alert other campers of any allergies, but we cannot guarantee an allergen-free setting.
Pick-up: 4:20-4:35pm at the same location as drop-off. If you have purchased late pick-up, please park and proceed to the camp classroom when you arrive. If the weather is great, check the playground first!
Parking: There is plenty of free parking at the community centre.
